Lord Christ,

In a time of great change and uncertainty,

we need your steady hope 

to anchor our families.

We need the transcending truth

that all things are being made new

through Jesus.

Though earthly flourishing may look like

beauty, wealth, and ease,

eternal flourishing looks like

faith, hope, and love.

Therefore, we pray 

for this eternal perspective

to ignite hope in the hearts 

of our children. 

They are surrounded

by forces of fear and greed

which threaten to cloud their faith,

cheapen their love,

and distort their hope.

Have mercy, Lord.

May our children be fueled and strengthened 

by your presence and promise,

so that whatever trials they endure,

they will find themselves 

like branches on your vine,

tethered to love. 

Rekindle our own

longing for redemption,

so that our words and deeds

point to what truly lasts

in this world—

for our kingdoms fall,

but yours will stand forever.
